Comprised of multi-platinum hip-hop producer Tony Dofat (producer, synthesizer, vocals), NYC pop darling Tippy (lyricist, lead vocal) and musician Nick Wendel (bass, guitar, vocal), Touch began as a vision of Dofat’s back in early 2007. "The whole concept and purpose of this group was to blend different genres of music with a unique futuristic flare…intimate yet sexy with emotion”, said Dofat. “The word ‘touch’ embodied my vision because the true meaning and essence of the word was exactly what I wanted the band to evoke, it’s what Touch has become.” Realizing that the vibrant sound he conceptualized with Touch was ahead of its time, Dofat, who is currently nominated for a Grammy for his work with reggae artist Heavy D, searched for over a year to find the perfect duo to complement his seductive vision for the group.

Dofat first discovered Tippy and immediately knew her voice, lyrics, and swagger fit the mold for his eccentric vision to become the leading lady of Touch. Born in southern California, Tippy moved to New York’s Lower East Side almost a decade ago to pursue her dream of music. She performed countless shows in every New York City hot spot prior to being discovered by Dofat.

Tippy then introduced Dofat to her good friend Nick Wendel, a multi talented musician from New York she frequently collaborated with. Touring with numerous bands from rock to rap since he was a child, Nick was well groomed to become the perfect candidate as the third member of the group. Prior to joining Touch, his last gig was as bassist for Santo Gold. Dofat loved the soundscape, style and expression that Nick would add to the group; Touch was now complete.

Just as human touch can evoke a plethora of emotions… love, ecstasy, fear, happiness, etc., so too will Touch’s music. Touch’s refreshing upbeat sound has a unique personality, inducing a natural high as it seamlessly flows through genres while maintaining a consistent yet seductive identity. When the trio joined forces in the studio the chemistry was instantaneous and flawless. They immediately started incorporating their individual touches, each providing a unique element to the dynamics of the sound. Tony produced and engineered the songs, crafting a musical landscape filled with intoxicating atmospherics and bold beats. Tippy sang lead vocals and wrote the majority of the lyrics, adding her own touch of vulnerability mixed with sexual voracity to the songs. Along with singing backup vocals, Nick incorporated his signature flare to the record, playing smooth guitar and bass lines in perfect synchronicity with the beats.
